Bolton Wanderers Women is delighted to announce the signing of Zara Plano on dual-registration from Everton Women.
The exciting midfielder arrives at the club looking to gain vital experience and minutes in a competitive setting, whilst offering fierce competition for Myles Smith’s side in the heart of midfield.
A former Manchester City youngster, who hails from the local area and attended Bolton School, Zara also carries international reckoning after selection for the ISFA’s England schools squad that defeated Wales back in 2023.
Now playing her football at Everton, Zara has also spent time with the Toffees’ first team squad during this pre-season, getting valuable minutes at senior level in their recent outings against Sheffield United and Leicester City.
Now arriving at Wanderers on dual-registration, Zara is available for selection for Sunday’s season opener away to Darwen as the Whites look to start the season with victory on the road.

On joining the club, Zara said: “I’m really excited to be joining.
“I’ve been in and seen the environment and the project they have here, and I think that it’s a place I can really develop as a player.
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity and being able to now play regularly against senior players will really help me as a player and I hope I can show what I can do in a Bolton shirt.”
Myles Smith, Women’s Team Manager, said: “Zara is a player who we believe to have huge potential in Women’s football and we are delighted to welcome her to our team.
“She is a midfielder who has all the qualities to really excel, not only this season with us, but in her future career. She will add depth and competition to our midfield and we’re looking forward to seeing how she develops during her time with us.
“We had huge success last season with players coming into the club on dual-registration and we hope, and believe, that Zara can do the same for us across this season.
“A thank you must also go to everyone at Everton for trusting us with Zara’s development and we’re really excited for what she can potentially show during her time with us.”
