Bolton Wanderers is delighted to confirm the arrival of highly-regarded goalkeeper Teddy Sharman-Lowe on a season-long loan from Premier League club Chelsea.
The 22-year-old, an England U21 international recently named in the squad for this summer’s European Championships, joins the Whites as Head Coach Steven Schumacher strengthens his goalkeeping department ahead of the new League One campaign.
Sharman-Lowe becomes Wanderers’ fifth summer signing, following the arrivals of Sam Dalby, Xavier Simons, Charlie Warren and Richard Taylor.

Sharman-Lowe arrives at the Toughsheet Community Stadium fresh from an outstanding season on loan at Doncaster Rovers, where he was a key figure in their League Two title-winning campaign. The Leicester-born keeper was an ever-present in the league for Rovers, demonstrating consistency and contributing significantly to their success. In all, he made 51 appearances for the South Yorkshire club, keeping an impressive 15 clean sheets and also helping them reach the fourth round of the FA Cup.
“I’m very excited to be here. It's another great challenge for me,” Sharman-Lowe said upon signing. “Coming to a club as big as Bolton – with its past in the Premier League as well and aspirations to be back there – I think I can really kick on and it's another great opportunity for me.
“It’s a beautiful stadium and I'm sure there will be a lot of fans here. I’m very excited to get going and I'm really looking forward to the season.
“Hopefully we can get promoted this year. It's obviously been the aim for the past few years and there's a real ambition in the club to get it done this year.”

Wanderers Head Coach Steven Schumacher commented: “We are really pleased to bring Teddy to the club. He is a young goalkeeper with plenty of ability and a fantastic season of EFL football behind him where he played a major part in a promotion-winning team. His performances for Doncaster were outstanding and he possesses the physical presence and all-round goalkeeping attributes we were looking for. Teddy has shown he can handle the demands of regular first-team football.
Sharman-Lowe’s career has seen a structured progression since joining Chelsea from Burton Albion in September 2020. He initially returned to the Brewers on loan, where he made his first three senior appearances in cup competitions after coming through their youth system. Subsequent loan spells with Havant and Waterlooville in the National League South and Bromley in the National League provided further valuable game time, complementing his experience with Chelsea’s U21s and involvement with the first-team squad at Stamford Bridge.
